This week we will finish with the fall NWEA testing for our elementary students. This is a computerized test that assesses the individual knowledge of our students in the areas of reading, math, and language usage. This test is very useful for teachers and students because the results are available immediately. The questions that the students are given can be at grade level, above or below grade level depending on the accuracy of their answers so we can really get a good picture of where each individual student is at in their grade level abilities. Teachers can use this data to provide additional help to students that show a weakness in an area and/or provide some more challenging activities for those students that show above grade level performance.
Students in grades 8th and 7th will be taking the NWEA tests on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during their first period class.
