Ending Reading Month with Face Painting and a Parade!

This morning we utilized Mr. Anderson and his art students to do some face painting of our elementary students.  We will be ending our day at school with a good luck parade.  Thank you to Mr. Anderson and his students!

I even tried out my hand at face painting and painted the afternoon preschool class!  They are pictured below.

Kindergarten and First Grade Students Using IPOD Touches!

We have purchased 20 IPOD touches to utilize within our kindergarten and first grade classes.  It is just like putting a mini computer into our students hands!  They will be practicing reading and math skills with the touches.

Students Learn About China

We had a guest speaker yesterday, Doni Aune.  She is a former professor for UND and she taught English to college students in China, Korea, and Thialand for several years.  She taught us some words from the Chines language and she shared her experiences living and working in China.  Dr. Aune had several tables set up with items from China that the students were able to view.  She even left several items for us to give away as prizes for our reading month!  Thanks!

Sorry to inform everyone that the author Marc Brown has cancelled his visitation to the Cavalier and Langdon Public Schools.  We had him scheduled to be here on Feb. 24th.  Big disappointment to all of us.

100 Days of School!

We had our 100 day breakfast and program this morning to celebrate being in school for 100 days!
Mrs. Mack's 5th grade class, the ESP classes, and the kindergarten classes all performed for our enjoyment.

Super Apple Man Got Us All Up and Moving!!

Super Apple Man, aka Don Blake visited the elementary school Wednesday afternoon.  He included four of our sixth graders in his presentation, Hunter, James, Abbie, and Skylar!  They did a wonderful job!  It was a perfect time to have this presentation on eating healthy and getting plenty of exercise, especially since we had all been forced to spend our recesses for the last 3 days inside due to the extreme cold temperatures!  Fun was had by all!  Check out some of the pictures!
