Support for the Cavalier Preschool Program

There will be a special school board meeting on Monday, August 8th, at 7PM in the FCS room.  One of the items on the agenda is the funding for a Cavalier Preschool.  Last year we were able to begin a regular education preschool at the Cavalier Public school through funds we received from an AYP grant.  This year we did not receive the grant, so we will need to support this program through general fund dollars.  In order to do this the school board members will need to approve that.  I hope they will do that.  I very much believe in the benefits of a preschool program at the Cavalier School.

We hope to run our special ed. and regular ed. preschool programs together through team teaching with Renae Osowski (sp. ed.) and Ann Bennett (reg. ed.).  This would be one of the only schools that would run their program like this.  We feel it would be a wonderful model for all our students.

There is a great need for the school to offer preschool.  I have had over 30 calls from parents showing interest in having their child attend a preschool program.  It is one of the best ways to prepare your child for kindergarten.  Research shows that a high quality preschool program benefits students going into kindergarten.  Parents of students that attended our preschool last year have many positive things to say about it!

August 25th Is Going to Be a GREAT Day!

Back to School!  Yes, it is already that time of year!  Time to go shopping for those backpacks, school supplies, new shoes and some cool clothes!  The Cavalier School will be busy with students come August 25th!  That is our first day of classes.

Teachers have already been busy setting up their classrooms!  It will be a wonderful new school year that will hold many celebrations recognizing our students' great achievements!  It will be a year of great learning and the making of fun memories!

If you are new to our school district be sure to come in to the office anytime before school starts and get your child registered.

Can't wait to catch up with everyone that I have missed over the summer!

School starts at 8:45AM, don't be late!
